About Us

What is Waikato RiverCare?

Waikato RiverCare has been operating since 1999 and officially became an incorporated society in 2001.  Members include a range of organisations and people who all share a similar passion for the lower Waikato River.

The group’s primary focus is on preparing, planting and maintaining areas of native plant habitat on the banks of the Lower Waikato River, and sourcing funds and support to carry out this work.

Co-ordinating community involvement in these projects is an important part of the group’s focus.

We would refer you to your society's rules which must be followed.  If those rules mention a president, which they should, then the society must have a president.  To continue without one could lead to significant administrative difficulties in the future.
