Ballance Farm Environment Awards
This week, members of RiverCare’s Executive Committee and staff attended the Ballance Farm Environment Awards, held at the Sir Don Rowlands Centre, Lake Karapiro on Wednesday night (14th April, 2021).

Waikato RiverCare were an entrant in the Catchment Care Group award, a new award category introduced this year.
RiverCare made it through the initial selection round and at the beginning of December 2020, RiverCare’s Operations Manager spent three hours showing the judges around our five Mangawara projects and answering their questions. The project sites focused on tree stand protection, tuna enhancement and wetland planting.
RiverCare didn’t make it to the final three, but enjoyed a great night out surrounded by like-minded individuals and organisations who champion sustainable farming and growing practices. Congratulations to all the finalists and special acknowledgement to:
