We are excited to share a recent wetland restoration project that has been a major project for us in the Waikato!

This project was implemented in partnership with Auckland Waikato Fish and Game, and funding support from the Waikato Catchment Ecological Enhancement Trust, Tooku awa koiora - Waikato River Authority and the Gamebird Habitat Trust.

Outcomes included a 50m fish-friendly weir to restore wetland hydrology, planting 45,000 natives and 6km of fencing installed. These efforts have significantly improved the environment, producing wetland habitat, which is crucial for waterfowl and fish species and can help improve water quality in our rivers and streams.
